Emergency Preparedness for your Pup

So, as I was toiling around staring at the computer, I realized that I don’t have much prepared for me or my dog in case of a natural disaster.  I’ve looked into things, but being poor, the good stuff is hard to get so I guess I’m going to have to do the old fashion can goods.  Anyways, I also realize that not many people have things put together for their pets.  It has taken me a bit to put some of this together (I should really be moving faster since I live in earthquake country), but I’ve gotten collapsible water bowls, water filtering tablets, a small pet first aid kit, an extra blanket, and dehydrated food put aside for my pet.  I’ve also gotten myself certified for pet first aid in case I need to do just a bit more for my dog during a disaster.  If you’re a person, I’m sorry, the best I can do for you is maybe perform CPR and put a band aid on you.  It’s been a while since I renewed my human first aid.  Anyways, I’ve come to find that there is a lot more I need to collect and it something that I can actual do right now without spending my whole paycheck.  Attached in a link from the CDC.  They’ve put together a checklist for a pet first aid kit.  There were some things I didn’t even think about, like vet records, list of medication, microchip records, etc.  These are things we can do right now and it will only cost a little time sitting at our computer.  Take a moment and look through this list.  Along with the CDC link, there is one for Red Cross as well; it is a little more detailed and provides tips on what should be done with your pet in case of an emergency.  Check out the links!  I hope you’ll find the links helpful and that you guys have a safe day everyday.  Thanks for reading.
